IELTS An Introduction

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System and we at VDIEC make sure that the individual goal of every student is met, as per their requirements of the IELTS Score. The students at VDIEC are given one on one attention to make sure all their educational requirements, along with the desired IELTS score, are catered to.

Every student first goes through an evaluation that gives the trainer an idea of what band they currently score. Assessing the difference between this and what band they need, helps the trainer in designing a plan that helps the student achieve that goal. This makes VDIEC a unique experience for the students as they are given the advantage of overcoming their obstacle at an individual level.

As an institute with experience of over 18 years in dealing with students, the trainers at VDIEC use a blend of unique techniques such as everyday classes, mock tests, doubt clearing session, extra tips session etc., through which the students benefit in all ways.

IELTS is conducted via over 40 British Council and IDP centers each in India with two to four tests every month. The basic skills that are tested in IELTS are Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

The scores are called BANDS, and range from 0 to 9 based on the student’s mastery over the language. The scores are first allotted to each section of the test and a final score (overall band) is calculated based on the average of all the four sections. The test lasts for 2 hours 45 mins to 3 hours and the first three sections, Listening, Reading and Writing are conducted on the same day, whereas the speaking section is conducted one or two days prior or after the main test. The results come out 13 days from the main test date and the scores are valid for 2 years. The current fee for appearing in this test is INR 11,300 which is directly paid to the body hosting the examination.
